Those three little words can make my day: “not too sweet!” In my community, that simple statement is the highest praise a baker can earn. As an American who spent her childhood in Taiwan, I’ve always loved the subtlety of Asian sweets. Living in the heart of New York City and visiting my family regularly in Taipei, I had my fill. But in recent years, working from home every day and running out of new YouTube workouts to try, I found myself craving a new avenue for creative expression. The occasional weekend experiment in my tiny NYC kitchen became a personal journey documented on Instagram—and it’s grown into a passion project that brings joy not just to me but hopefully to those around me, as I constantly strive to create something new, something delightful, something that’s just.. “a little sweet.”
